Spotkania dla nowych mieszkańców Lublina, którzy chcą się zaburzyć w polskiej kulturze. Cykl „Kultura na Luzie” to luźne spotkania prowadzone w języku angielsku, których celem jest przybliżenie bogactwa polskiej historii, kina, fotografii i muzyki.
Uczestnicy będą eksplorować bogactwo polskiej literatury. Poznają fenomen disco polo, które stało się nieodłącznym elementem polskiej kultury, oraz wpływem memów na współczesne życie społeczne. Poruszone zostaną także historyczne aspekty Solidarności, jej wpływ na Polskę, a także wspólnie odkryjemy rol kremówki i bobra w Polskich memach. Warto także wspomnieć o interesujących symbolach kulturowych, takich jak godzina 21:37 czy postać misia, które w sposób humorystyczny i nostalgiczny odnoszą się do polskiej popkultury.
Osoby prowadzące:
Jolanta Prochowicz – współzałożycielka Fundacji Camera Femina. Prowadzi badania i działania społeczne wokół praw kobiet oraz języka inkluzywnego. Jest także aktywistką działającą w obszarze praw osób LGBTQ+ oraz nauczycielką języka polskiego i filozofii w jednym z lubelskich liceów.
Bartosz Wójcik- krytyk literacki, tłumacz i menedżer kultury. Doktor nauk humanistycznych, specjalizuje się w kulturze Karaibów. Autor książki „Afro-Caribbean Poetry in English: Cultural Traditions (1970s-2000s)” wydanej przez Peter Lang Verlag w 2015. Pracuje w Centrum Spotkania Kultur w Lublinie.

A series of meetings designe for new resident of Lublin who wants to immerse themselves in Polish culture. „Culture in a casual way/Leisure with Culture” series consists of informal meetings in English which will help discover the richness of Polish history, cinema, photography, and music.
During the meetings, the participants will explore the wealth of Polish literature. Other subject will be music, particularly the phenomenon of disco polo, which has become an integral part of Polish culture, and the influence of memes on contemporary social life. The hosts will also touch on the historical aspects of Solidarity, its impact on Poland, and discover the role of kremówka (vanilla slice) and the beaver in Polish memes. Another thing worth mentioning is curious cultural symbols such as 9:37 p.m. or the character of the bear, which are intertwined with Polish pop culture in a humorous and nostalgic way.

Jolanta Prochowicz – co-founder of the Camera Femina Foundation. She conducts research and engages in social action concerning women’s rights and inclusive language. She is also an activist in the field of LGBTQ+ rights and a Polish language and philosophy teacher at one of Lublin’s high schools.
Bartosz Wójcik – literary critic, translator, and cultural manager. He has a PhD in the humanities, specializing in Caribbean culture. He is the author of the book „Afro-Caribbean Poetry in English: Cultural Traditions (1970s-2000s)” published by Peter Lang Verlag in 2015. He works at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin.
